How do I create an employer account?

Creating an employer account is quick and easy:

  1. Click "For Employers" in the header or visit our employer page
  2. Click "Get Started - 2 Free Credits"
  3. Fill in company details (company name, size, email)
  4. Verify your email address
  5. You're ready to post your first job!

You get 2 free job credits when you sign up - no credit card required to start.

What are job credits and how do they work?

1 credit = 1 job posting for 30 days.

How it works:

  1. Purchase credits (\$49 each)
  2. Use 1 credit to post a job
  3. Your job is live for 30 days
  4. Receive unlimited applications during those 30 days
  5. After 30 days, the job automatically expires and is removed

What you get per credit:

  • 30-day job posting visibility
  • Unlimited applications for that posting
  • Full application management tools
  • Candidate analytics and quality indicators
  • Internal messaging with applicants

Credits never expire - buy them when you need them, use them when you're ready to hire.

Do I get any free credits when I sign up?

Yes! You get 2 free job credits when you create your employer account.

That means you can:

  • Post 2 jobs completely free
  • Test the platform with real candidates
  • See the quality of applications you receive
  • Experience the full hiring workflow

No credit card required to get started.

After you use your 2 free credits, additional credits are \$49 each. Most employers find the quality worth it after trying the free credits.

How do I post a job?

Posting a job takes just a few minutes:

  1. Log in to your employer dashboard
  2. Click "Post New Job"
  3. Fill in job details:
    • Job title, department, location
    • Job description and responsibilities
    • Required and preferred qualifications
    • Salary range (optional but recommended)
    • Employment type (full-time, part-time, contract)
  4. Select how many credits to use (1 credit = 30 days)
  5. Review and publish

Your job goes live immediately and starts appearing on our public job board.

Can I edit my job posting after it's live?

Yes! You can edit your job posting at any time while it's active.

What you can update:

  • Job description and requirements
  • Salary range
  • Location or remote options
  • Application deadline
  • Benefits and perks

Changes take effect immediately and candidates will see the updated version.

Note: Existing applicants are notified if you make significant changes to the role requirements, ensuring transparency.

How quickly will I start receiving applications?

Most jobs receive their first application within 48 hours.

Important to understand:

Because candidates need to complete our 7-step workflow (resume optimization, profile building, cover letter generation), applications trickle in over time rather than flooding in immediately.

Expected volume:

  • Average roles: 5-10 quality applications per week
  • Popular positions (remote, tech, competitive salary): 15-20 per week
  • Niche roles: 3-5 per week

Quality over quantity: You're getting fewer applications, but they're dramatically higher quality. Most employers prefer 10 great candidates over 500 spam applications.

Can I pause or unpause my job posting?

Yes, you can pause your job posting at any time.

How pausing works:

  • Click "Pause" on your job listing
  • Job is removed from public job board (no new applications)
  • Your credit time STOPS - days don't count down while paused
  • You can still view and manage existing applications
  • Click "Unpause" when ready to accept new applications again
  • Remaining days resume when unpaused

Common use case: You're reviewing a batch of candidates and want to pause new applications temporarily. Pausing ensures you don't waste your credit days.

What happens when my job expires after 30 days?

After 30 days, your job automatically expires and is removed from the job board.

What happens:

  • Job is removed from public board (new candidates can't apply)
  • You keep full access to all existing applications
  • You can continue messaging and reviewing applicants
  • All candidate profiles and data remain accessible
  • You can archive the job when finished

If you want to reopen the position:

Purchase another credit (\$49) to extend the job for 30 more days. All existing applications remain attached to the job.

Why auto-expire? Prevents "ghost jobs" - jobs that are filled but still listed. This ensures job seekers only see active, real opportunities.

Can I post multiple jobs at once?

Absolutely! Each job posting uses 1 credit.

Example scenarios:

  • You have 2 free credits from signup → Post 2 jobs simultaneously
  • You buy 5 credits → Post 5 jobs at once (or space them out over time)
  • You have 10 credits → Hire for multiple roles at the same time

Each job is tracked separately:

  • Separate application inbox per job
  • Independent 30-day expiration dates
  • Individual analytics and messaging
  • Pause/unpause each job independently

How do application statuses work?

Track candidates through your hiring pipeline with these statuses:

New → Application just received, not reviewed yet
Reviewed → You've looked at it, considering next steps
Shortlisted → Top candidate for interviews
Interview Scheduled → Interview set up
Offer Extended → Job offer sent
Hired → Offer accepted, position filled
Rejected → Not moving forward with this candidate

How to use:

  • Drag-and-drop candidates between statuses (or use dropdown)
  • Add notes at each stage
  • Filter view by status to focus on specific stages
  • Candidates see their status in their dashboard

How do I know if a candidate is actually qualified?

Look for these quality signals:

  1. ApplyScore match percentage - Higher scores (75%+) mean better keyword and skill alignment with your job description
  2. Workflow completion badges - Candidates who completed all 7 steps are demonstrably more serious
  3. Pro member status - They're paying \$5/month for better tools, shows commitment
  4. Time investment - Check how long they spent preparing their application (shown in analytics)
  5. Custom cover letter - Read their personalized message to gauge genuine interest
  6. Profile tailoring - Did they customize their profile for your specific role?

Red flags to watch for:

Can I message candidates through Hiir.me?

Yes! Built-in messaging keeps everything organized.

How it works:

  • Click "Message" on any applicant's profile
  • Write your message (interview invite, questions, follow-up)
  • Candidate receives email notification
  • They reply through the platform
  • All messages are threaded per candidate

What if I receive too many applications?

This is rare on Hiir.me (by design), but you have options:

  1. Pause your job posting - Stop accepting new applications temporarily while you review current batch
  2. Filter by quality indicators - Show only Pro members, or only candidates with 75%+ ApplyScore
  3. Add screening questions - Edit your job posting to add required questions
  4. Raise requirements - Update the job description to be more specific

Reality check:

Our system naturally limits volume through the 7-step workflow. You'll typically get 5-20 applications per week, not 500. If you're getting more, that's actually a good problem - it means your role is highly desirable!

Can I get a refund if I don't find anyone?

We offer a quality guarantee:

If you receive zero quality applications (0 candidates with email verification + any quality badge) after 14 days, we'll refund your credit.

To request refund:

  1. Email support@hiir.me within 14 days of posting
  2. Explain the situation (zero qualified applicants)
  3. We review your job posting and applications
  4. If valid, we issue credit refund or account credit

Not eligible for refund:

  • ❌ You received qualified candidates but didn't like them
  • ❌ You filled the position and no longer need candidates
  • ❌ You posted a job with unrealistic requirements

Are there discounts for multiple credits?

Is there a monthly subscription fee?

No subscription fee. No monthly charges.

You only pay when you're actively hiring:

Why no subscription? We know hiring is sporadic. You shouldn't pay for months you're not hiring. Pay only when you need us.
